TRAMA 3D

Chapter 13

Massimo Osti Studio continues to evolve Trama 3D, developed with Limonta | 1893, building on previous Chapters. Using ECONYL® regenerated nylon, this interpretation of Jacquard technology draws inspiration from the industrial processes of airbag manufacturing and 3D detailing. Chapter 13 introduces the Trama 3D Double Dyed variant, expanding this research further through garments with a cotton outer layer. The double-dyeing process involves dyeing the nylon and cotton separately, creating chromatic contrasts that emerge along the seams and construction details.

THE PROCESS

Innovating the Jacquard technology

Following an extensive phase of research and experimentation, Trama 3D showcases the potential of Jacquard technology in outerwear by employing double dyeing techniques. Starting from a single yarn, an entire fabric panel is created with functional elements, such as pockets and logo applications, incorporated into the design. The panels are then laser-cut according to precise component mapping, enabling seams to be minimised.
